How does OpenMerchant work?
OpenMerchant is a completely customizable online retail solution with all of the functionality and reliability of more costly and proprietary e-commerce applications. OpenMerchant consists of eight modules for complete e-commerce capabilities:
The Content Manager creates all the objects necessary to display articles, prices, documents, intermediate pages and variants. This flexible content publishing system is easy to use and include all facets of video, animation and sound.
The Merchandise Manager allows the retailer to control product displays and helps decide how products are displayed according to customer buying patterns. The Merchandise Manager also lets retailers plan for cross-selling and up-selling products.
The Statistics Manager offers a click pattern analysis for a more thorough overview of consumer traffic and interest than simply counting the number of hits a site receives.
The Vendor Manager allows the easy creation of a comprehensive vendor and pricing database.
The Order Manager is a complete ordering and shipping system that processes orders by systemizing customer name, address and shipping information. This module also performs inventory order and reconciliation within a range of dates, by order number, by user and by shipped--or not shipped--items.
The Inventory Manager provides real time inventory accounting along with unlimited warehouse capabilities. The Inventory Manager can set "out of stock" behavior at the Content Manager level so inventory item status can be set as "active" or "inactive."
The Search Term Manager provides direct search results more quickly than competing e-commerce solutions while saving server load for more efficient operation.
The Customer Service Assistant allows retailers to their own contact records in the system. This module also allows customer service representatives to change records manually and change passwords.
